Memphis Theological Seminary presents its second annual St. Patrick’s Day 4 mile Race/Walk on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Serious runners and first timers alike are welcome to join us at our beautiful Midtown Memphis campus for this family-friendly event. The proceeds for this event will benefit the Ministry for the Real World Campaign to help current and future students fulfill their call to serve God and mankind. Don’t forget to wear your green and join us for the after party at Celtic Crossing!
The proceeds from this event will benefit the Ministry for the Real World Campaign and Room in the Inn Memphis.
Room in the Inn is an ecumenical ministry that serves people experiencing homelessness. Now beginning its sixth year in Memphis, the program provides emergency shelter and meals during the coldest months of the year—November through March. Shelter is a basic necessity that more than 2,000 people in Memphis are living without each night. Faith communities have warm buildings and people who can provide this necessity along with much needed meals and a good helping of kindness and respect. Memphis Theological Seminary equips faith leaders to do ministries that meet real-world needs, like Room in the Inn. Our diverse, ecumenical community equips emerging and established faith leaders with the skills to identify critical needs and meet them through ministry. The Ministry for the Real World campaign supports our efforts to sustain the effort to help current and future students fulfill their call to serve God and mankind. Today, our alumni serve on every continent except Antarctica--feeing the hungry, advocating for the underserved, and leading congregations.
